Ethical & Fair Use Framework

Terms of Service & Acceptable Use

Please read these Terms carefully before utilizing TempMail. By generating an address or accessing our endpoints, you commit to ethical, lawful, and responsible behavior.

1 Agreement to Terms

By generating an address, viewing messages, or interacting with our services, you enter into a binding agreement with TempMail. If you do not agree with any provision of these Terms or our Privacy Policy, you must discontinue use immediately.

2 Intended Purpose & Service Boundaries

TempMail is engineered exclusively as a strictly inbound, disposable temporary email service. Permitted use cases include:

  • Software development & QA testing
  • Protecting personal inboxes from marketing spam
  • Single-use trial signups and downloads
  • Testing email delivery and webhooks
Inbound-Only Service: This platform does not support, offer, or allow sending outbound emails (SMTP). Any attempt to send outbound messages will be rejected.

3 Explicit Acknowledgment of Ephemerality

You expressly recognize that TempMail inboxes are ephemeral and temporary by design:

  • Never Use for Critical Accounts: You must never register bank accounts, cryptocurrency wallets, primary social identities, government services, or sensitive portals using a TempMail address.
  • Zero Recovery Guarantee: Once an inbox expires or you click "Delete", all associated messages are permanently obliterated. We have no technical capability to restore or search for expired messages.
  • Public Collision Disclaimer: Once an address expires and is wiped, it returns to the public domain.

4 Zero-Tolerance Prohibited Activities

Any breach of the following ethical rules will result in immediate IP banning, domain blocking, and reporting to relevant authorities:

Cyberattacks & Phishing: Operating or facilitating phishing campaigns, malware delivery, credential harvesting, or spam botnets.

System Impersonation: Registering prefixes intended to impersonate administrative, support, security, or corporate staff.

Platform Disruption & Abuse: Employing headless scraping, denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, flood scripting, or attempting to bypass rate limiters.

Circumvention: Attempting to exploit email parsing vulnerabilities or break out of sandboxed containers.

Illicit Content: Using temporary addresses to receive or facilitate the trade of illegal, non-consensual, or prohibited materials.

5 Fair Use & Resource Management

To maintain high availability for everyone worldwide on our free platform, we enforce automated resource thresholds:

  • Inbox Generation: Maximum 5 new inboxes per IP per 3-minute sliding window.
  • Polling Frequency: Maximum 60 message poll requests per minute per IP.
  • Storage Quota per Inbox: Capped at 30 messages maximum. Excess incoming emails automatically displace the oldest unstarred message.
  • Max Lifespan Cap: Inboxes may be extended up to a maximum safety ceiling of 24 hours.

6 Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY.

In no event shall TempMail or its operators be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from unreceived emails, delayed message delivery, accidental loss of data, or reliance on disposable addresses.

Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to revise these Terms of Service at any time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory updates. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of revised terms.
